Submission Guidelines
The Jewish Publication Society welcomes queries on topics of Jewish interest, with a few exceptions: fiction, poetry, memoirs, cookbooks, and children's books.
Books Queries
If you are interested in having us consider your book for publication, please send a 1-page query that includes:
- A brief description of the book
- Your target audience
- Your qualifications for writing the book
- Names of other published works on the same topic, with an explanation of how your proposed work is different
- Your curriculum vitae or resumé, including your email, address, and phone number
Attach a self-addressed, stamped envelope for reply. You will be asked to submit a formal proposal if we are interested in your query.
Book ProposalsIf you have been asked to submit a formal proposal, please review the JPS Book Proposal Guidelines and prepare your proposal and manuscript sample accordingly.
